Y’Allstars Southern Skate Showdown is a multiple day roller derby league that attracts roller derby athletes and volunteers internationally. Red Stick Roller Derby Juniors is the only host league for 2026 Y’Allstars. This is our league’s biggest fundraiser.  Monthly skater dues pay for insurance, rent and tournament fees.  Being able to participate in Y’Allstars allows us to have fewer fundraisers throughout the year to cover any other expenses. The more volunteers that participate in our league’s name, the more funds our league is able to raise.

positions include:

-general setup (happens Wednesday night).

-registration and check-in. no kids allowed at these positions

-door guard

-after party decorations -there will be two afterparties (adults and juniors)

-livestreaming

-ticket sales/wristband distribution

-merch tables for yallstars and RSRDJ

-floaters (giving other shift workers breaks, checking and transporting ice, etc)

-headquarters (need laptop/tablet)

-track repair

-entertainment

-JRDA wranglers

-after party decorations -there will be two afterparties (adults and juniors)

-IF staying Sunday night and you have room in your vehicle, consider transporting THINGS back to the warehouse in Baton Rouge

-Family members will be able to sign up to volunteer, however volunteer positions for children will be limited to positions that do not deal with money transactions.

-Level 3 skaters are encouraged to volunteer in the entertainment category (walking through the crowd and advertising raffles, chuck a duck and answering questions about derby rules).

Some positions will require volunteers to have their own laptop or tablet. Some positions can use a phone, but not many. This requirement will be mentioned when signing up.
